Being well-equipped is about protect the facilities but especially swimming pool technicians and staff.

Safety of the storage of chemicals in the swimming pools includes many aspects: technical prevention, compliance with safety instructions, training of personnel. During its work, the technical staff of a swimming pool is exposed to chemical and physical dangers. These hazards can be avoided or minimized if the basic safety rules are met; do not store chlorine briquettes, powder or liquid on pH regulators (for example). Each product must be stored on a retention bin (see Rulling of 2 February 1998). See alsoDosing Tanks.

Storage of pollutants and dangerous liquids

Rulling of 2 February 1998 - Section 3 Article 10:
I. Any storage unit for a liquid liable to pollute water or soil shall have a storage capacity whereby the volume that is at least equal to the largest of the following two values:

- 100% of the capacity of the largest storage bin.
- 50% of the total capacity of the associated storage units.

For storage of conisters with a unit capacity of less than or equal to 250 litres, the storage capacity shall be at least equal to:

- - in the case of flammable liquids, with the exception of lubricants, 50% of the total canister capacity.
- - othewise, 20% of the total canister capacity.
- - in all cases 800 l minimum or equal to the total capacity when this is less than 800 l.
